There is a wealth of places to visit within an easy drive, including Sherborne with its abbey, castle and excellent shops; Montacute House, Thomas Hardy's Cottage, and the pretty village and chalk giant at Cerne Abbas; and the sandy beach and traditional seaside attractions at Weymouth (15 miles). There are several golf courses nearby and sailing can be enjoyed at Sutton Bingham Reservoir, 5 miles. Shop and pub serving food in village, 1/2 mile.
